Interest in the performing arts came at an early age for Caitlin Brand. She started with dance lessons and ended up performing in competitions for 10 years in several variations of dance. Her theatre career began in High School and continued on throughout college. Brand also had the opportunity to study and take workshops in Opera, during her run at Lindenwood University. As a Vocal Performance major, Caitlin sang in all three choirs; The Concert Choir, Voices only, and University Chorus throughout her college career. She also had the opportunity to sing with the Jazz Band and the Jazz Ensemble. During that time, Caitlin also took lessons in guitar and piano. With her strong interest in country music, as well as her passion for business you can say that Caitlin’s studies were well rounded and led her to pursue her dreams in Nashville, TN.
Her experiences in Nashville began with two internships in music publishing. Over her time in Music City Caitlin experienced all sides of the industry. Brand had the chance to work a bit in the recording studio, on screen, and onstage. Some of her most memorable experiences include recording demos, playing an extra for a Lady Antebellum, Big and rich, and the TV show Nashville! She also had a fun job…she was a singing server at the Opry Backstage Grill! During the last year of her residency in the south, Caitlin had the honor of being a part of the Nashville Symphony Chorus. Singing with the Symphony is still one of Caitlin’s greatest accomplishments. While her time in Nashville was a blast nothing can quite beat home. Caitlin moved home after 4 years in music City to be closer to her family and best friends. Not long after, Gina came to Caitlin with the idea for a business that would develop into Once Upon an Occasion.
When she isn’t performing in character, Caitlin enjoys sharing her talents in other ways. She is a Soprano in the choir at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Caitlin is also a cantor for mass. Singing sacred music is a very special part of worship for her, and she feels blessed to be able to share that gift with others.
In her free time, Caitlin enjoys relaxing and having fun with family and friends. Her hobbies include horseback riding and enjoying the outdoors. When she isn’t performing you may find Caitlin at a festival, shopping at a local boutique, or eating at local restaurants! Brand is the youngest of 4 siblings, and the only girl. She loves spending time with her nieces and nephew. Being an aunt is very special to Caitlin and she enjoys the special moments she gets to spend with her nieces and nephew. Caitlin cherishes the close bond she has with her family.
During the week, Caitlin works in the Accounts Receivable Department for her parent’s business, Piros Signs, Inc. Caitlin attributes much of her success in business to the background and experience she has had with Piros Signs. Brand’s parents have always supported Caitlin’s endeavors in the arts, as well as business. At a young age, Caitlin was exposed to the workings of a business, as she watched her parents develop what was once small business to what is now a large corporation. Brand feels lucky to have the opportunity to grow in her field while also running a business of her own.
…has been in the entertainment industry for over twenty years. Throughout her career, she was a member of many fine arts groups. Ensembles such as St. Charles Borromeo School & Church Choirs, The Patt Holt Singers, and Duchesne High School Choir-State & Solo Ensemble all helped shape her into the performer that she is at an early age. While attending Lindenwood University, Gina had the opportunity to be in a variety of choirs, including: University Chorus, Concert Choir, and the premiere a Capella ensemble Voices Only. Throughout her musical vocation, she has been selected for leadership roles, such as section leader, in multiple ensembles. This led to Assistant Directing the groups, and finding her passion for conducting and arranging/composing music. Being able to conduct her a capella arrangement of Steven Tyler’s “Dream On” was a DREAM come true. She can only hope to add more selections to her creative repertoire.
Gina also has an extensive theatre background. Since her teen years, she has portrayed multiple characters: including any princess or cartoon friend you can think of. Her favorite roles that she has played throughout her school career were Ms. Pearce from “My Fair Lady” and Logan Schwartzengrubienerre from “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”. Korte’s outgoing personality, leadership skills, and drive to succeed have led her to many unforgettable opportunities and performing experiences. She has performed all over the Mid-West and South East regions of the US. This includes but not limited to: singing the National Anthem for The Olympic Diving Trials/multiple sporting events/military commencements; opening for Pure Praire League, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Charlie Daniels. Her most unforgettable performance thus far would be singing at The White House during Christmas time!
Her decision to acquire her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Vocal/Choral Music & Master of Arts in Education from Lindenwood University was based on her love of performance and encouraging today’s youth. She has taught ages that range from pre-k through high school. Within the past few years, her path has taken a different turn! During the week, Gina works for Health Coach Institute as a Welcome Coach in the Enrollment Department. She absolutely loves her team. With it being virtual, she has co-workers all over the world! Korte is also the Choral Director of St. Paul’s Parish. It is a great way to incorporate her passion for conducting and spirituality. On the weekend you can find her performing with Once Upon an Occasion, or getting people hitched! Gina is also an ordained minister. She provides the service of officiating and vocals for weddings, and has been traveling all over Missouri.
When Korte is not off performing for the general public, her other fun hobbies include: party planning, gardening, sharing hair products, and fitness! Monat is a hair care product line that has helped women and men all over the world gain their confidence back! Hair issues as small as a little frizz, up to complete hair loss from illnesses. It has been such an eye-opening experience and she is so thankful to be a part of it! Gina has battled weight her entire life and has lost over 100 lbs! Eating healthy and incorporating fitness into her family’s lifestyle is super important to her. Last but certainly not least, here FAVORITE pasttime is spending time with her family. Gina is married to her best friend Jimmy. They have been together for eleven years, married for six, and have two beautiful daughters. Emma Grace & Aria Rose. Gina feels quite blessed and could not think of anything else that she would want to be doing with her life.
